Jeff Lehr, Founder and President
Jeff Lehr is a recipe developer, food stylist and marketing consultant
whose career has been inspired by a keen interest in food and nutrition
for over 27 years. He founded CreativeFoodworks to help food, restaurant
and hospitality companies improve performance, service and quality.
Lehr received a BA in 1978 from Kent State University, where his studies
focused on news writing and early childhood education. In 1979, he completed
a one-year culinary apprenticeship with Master Chef Hiroshi Hayashi at
Boston's premier whole foods restaurant and bakery, The Seventh Inn. In
1980, he helped open LaMontagne, Memphis' first full-service natural foods
restaurant, where he served as chef for over 8 years. He has since worked
as cooking instructor, recipe developer, food stylist, display design
consultant, freelance writer and consumer education specialist.
Mr. Lehr has developed recipes for retail packaging, cookbooks, restaurants,
supermarket foodservice and consumer education programs. As a food stylist,
he has prepared food for a wide variety of visual media for over 17 years,
including food display design and training services for supermarkets and
hotels. He has written copy for retail packaging, press releases, recipe
features, consumer education literature, museum displays and multimedia
training programs. He has provided technical expertise and consulting
services food manufacturers, restaurant and hospitality chains and non-profit
organizations.
Jeff is also affiliated with The Experiential Healing Center and Healing
Arts Medical Group, where he helps individuals and families develop practical
solutions for achieving their nutritional goals. He serves on the Assisi
Foundation's Community Health Advisory Panel, and is a member of Healthy
Memphis Common Table, a community coalition working to improve health
and healthcare for Memphis and Mid-South residents. (back)
